Edblad is a Swedish jewellery company founded in 2006 by Cathrine and Hans Edblad.  They design, produce and distribute their products globally, with Europe as their main market.

All metals, as well as for plating, are responsibly sourced.

STAINLESS STEEL
Edblad offers jewellery made in high-grade 316L stainless steel.
The ’L’ in 316L stands for low carbon content, which makes the material
resistant to corrosion allowing for the products to remain intact through
everyday use, over time.
The material is particularly suitable for jewellery as it’s hypoallergenic,
non-magnetic and is significantly more resistant to scratches thawn gold
and silver because of its density.
316L Stainless steel is nickel safe and complies with the EU directives of
prohibited substances included in the REACH Regulation (EC) No.
1907/2006.
Stainless steel is energy efficient to produce, which means it has a lower
environmental impact than many other metal alloys. The material can
also be recycled and reused endlessly, making it a sustainable choice.
80% of Edblad’s offer is made from recycled and reused steel.
By using recycled steel, we contribute to reducing carbon dioxide (Co2)
emissions, water use and other environmental impact, as recycled
metals use less resources than mining new metals.

PVD PLATING
Edblad uses 2-3 microns (μm) 14k gold PVD plating to achieve
the gold color of the jewellery.  PVD stands for ‘Physical Vapour Deposition’ and describes the process of using pressure chambers. It’s sometimes called ion or IP plating.
This plating procedure is environmentally friendly and causes minimal waste. It gives the jewellery a waterproof sealing making it highly resistant to salt, perfume and everyday wear.
Edblad jewellery in ’Steel’ color has no plating but due to the quality of the raw material 316L, the finished product is very durable and withstands water penetration and discoloring.
